Donald Ehrhardt

Donald attended California Coast University and is a decorated Marine Corps veteran, serving in multiple locations around the world. Donald retired from law enforcement in 2023 after 26 years. During his career, he served as a Deputy Sheriff with the Ventura County (CA) Sheriff’s Office and a police officer in the Oxnard (CA) Police Department. Donald had a robust career, which included assignments in the Patrol Division, Special Enforcement Unit (Gang/ SWAT), Neighborhood Policing Team, as well as a Detective and Senior Detective in Domestic Violence Unit and the Sexual Assault Unit.

Les Lauziere

Les is a graduate of the University of Maryland (BA) and New Jersey City University (BS). He began his law enforcement career with the United States Postal Inspection Service and held assignments in Washington, DC, New York, NY and Richmond, VA, retiring in 2000 after 27 years as a federal agent.

During his career, Les was a member of the Organized Crime Strike Force, headquartered in the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of NY. He also conducted numerous successful investigations into bombings, robberies, burglaries, theft, fraud, extortion, and child exploitation. He was certified and provided expert witness testimony in United States District Court and state court during both explosives and child exploitation trials.

Les accepted an appointment in 2000 as the first Criminal Investigator in the Office of the Attorney General of Virginia’s newly formed Computer Crime Section. Here, he investigated computer crimes in several landmark cases for the Commonwealth. While with the Attorney General’s Office he prepared and delivered many lectures on digital evidence, identity theft, cyber-crimes and child exploitation including at the University of Mississippi School of Law, Virginia Commonwealth University, NW3C Global Conference on Economic & High Tech Crime, US Attorneys’ Conferences including Project Safe Childhood, US Department of Defense Cyber Crime Conference, University of Virginia Cyber Crime Conference, Intelligence Support Systems for Lawful Intercept & Internet Surveillance World Conferences, Virginia Commonwealth’s Attorneys’ Conferences, Virginia Magistrates Training Conference, Richmond Bar Association Bench Bar Conference, Virginia Association of Campus Law Enforcement Conferences, FBI Richmond Division In-Service Training, Virginia Library Association Paraprofessional Forum and Metropolitan Richmond Women’s Bar Association Conference, among others.

Les was an adjunct faculty member at the University of Richmond from 2003 until 2009, where he developed, prepared, and delivered undergraduate classes in Cyber Crimes and Computer Forensics, in-person and online via the University’s intranet (Blackboard) platform.

From 2008 into 2018, Les was a contracted as an Investigative Analyst for the US Postal Inspection Service providing investigative consultation and assistance to agents Mail Fraud, Wire Fraud and Bank Fraud, Identity Theft statutes, providing technical, legal and subject matter advice during case intakes, interviews, interrogations, case briefings and trials.

From 2009 until 2011, Les was also contracted by the US Department of Justice provide technical and subject matter advice during a federal investigation of a California-based business that distributed child pornography globally. Les has appeared in news articles, in local and network radio and television broadcasts including CBS’ “48 Hours Mystery,” The Discovery Channel and Crime TV regarding his investigations.

Mike Nicholson

Mike is a principal at Sierra Consulting, a graduate of the Citadel (BA) and the Liberty University Helms School of Government (MAPP). He is a decorated combat veteran having served in U.S. Air Force during Operation Desert Storm. Mike began his law enforcement career as a federal agent in 2002 and retired from federal law enforcement in 2023. During his career, Mike specialized in white collar fraud, theft, workplace violence prevention, and international narcotics investigations. Further, Mike served as a firearms instructor and officer survival instructor for over a decade. During his career, Mike provided training and lectures on investigative techniques and workplace violence. In addition to investigating cases, Mike supervises and reviews investigations at Sierra Consulting.

Nate Brooks

Nate is a graduate of the Citadel (BA) and Anderson University (MCJ). He is a Lecturer of Criminal Justice for Clemson University and a licensed polygraph examiner, having conducted over 2200 polygraph examinations for high profile criminal cases, pre-employment screening, and sexual offender monitoring. Prior to joining the private sector, Nate enjoyed over 25 years of work within the field of law enforcement. His experience spans from entry level positions of patrol, to investigating complex cases involving public corruption, and supervising and managing small operational units to a nationwide organization. His last assignment was to the Administrative Services Division of the Greenville Police Department, developing a polygraph program from the ground up. He is the former president of the Polygraph Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (P.L.E.A), which develops best practice policies and accredits law enforcement polygraph programs nationwide. Through the P.L.E.A. program, Nate has also taught advanced polygraph courses nationwide for the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency with the Northeast Counterdrug Training Center. He is a Board Member of the South Carolina Crisis Negotiators Association and currently instructs 40-hour negotiation certification courses for the State of South Carolina. He is a graduate of the FBI’s National Crisis Negotiator’s Course and former Negotiation Training Officer for the Greenville Police Department.

Phil Carter

Phil is the Principal and Founder of Sierra Consulting, a graduate of the University of South Carolina, the Liberty University School of Law, and a current Criminology PhD student at Liberty University. During his law enforcement career, he served as a Deputy Sheriff/Criminal Investigator at the Colleton County (SC) Sheriff’s Office and as a Federal Agent/Criminal Investigator for the U.S. Secret Service and U.S. Postal Inspection Service, retiring from federal service in 2022 after 26+ years in local and federal law enforcement. During his law enforcement career, he worked in numerous domestic and international locations, specializing in fraud, workplace violence, security, and theft.

During his federal law enforcement career, Phil has assisted Amazon, eBay, UPS, Cannon, NFL, and others in developing local and global security and safety policies. Further, he has lectured at multiple universities and colleges on security and criminal justice topics, including, being the featured speaker at numerous corporate conferences and events, including speaking on multiple occasions at the annual NFL Security Conference. He is actively serving on the Upstate Better Business Bureau Board of Directors, the American Bar Association Law Enforcement Committee, and the American Bar Association White Collar Crime Committee. He is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA), World Affairs Council, International Assoc. for Identification (IAI), International Homicide Investigator’s Association (IHIA), International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators (IAFCI), ASIS International (ASIS), and the South Carolina Association of Legal Investigators (SCALI).
